The naturally socially distanced beach state of Hawaii became the Happiest State in America in 2020 in a country where people are petrified by the current pandemic. The same has been shown in a study conducted by WalletHub (a website for finance). With 32 metrics, the website looked at each of the 50 states, and Hawaii topped the list. The top 10 list was also made up of Utah, Minnesota, New Jersey, Maryland, California, North Dakota, Iowa, Idaho, and Connecticut, respectively.

The Web Site used three dimensions of mental and physical well-being on a 100-point scale (50 points), working environment (25 points), culture, and Society (25 points) to calculate happiness.

In spite of the conditions, the organization sought to locate the condition where individuals were optimistic.

While Hawaii secured the first overall spot, it came in second after New Jersey for Emotional and Physical Well-being, and third after Utah and Idaho for Culture and Climate.

"Enjoyment is a sense of satisfaction, enjoyment, and overall positive feeling. Happiness is one universal purpose," says Dr. Chieh-Chen Bowen of Cleveland State University. We just want to be satisfied and we want that kind of feeling to last.

The finance firm has been performing the Happiest State Report since 2014, but all the difference is made this year. "The company said in its statement," The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted life as we know it in 2020, causing disease, limiting social interactions, and leading to extensive job losses.

Last in the analysis came Oregon, Alaska, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and West Virginia.
