According to the amended travel restrictions, all overseas travelers coming into Mumbai and other Maharashtra airports, including those who are fully vaccinated, will now be required to present a negative RT-PCR report with a 72-hour validity.

In response to the threat of COVID-19's third wave, the Maharashtra state government has enacted tough regulations for all international passengers coming into Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and other Maharashtra airports.

All overseas travelers, as well as those who are completely vaccinated, will now be required to carry a negative RT-PCR certificate that is no older than 72 hours, according to Maharashtra Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte's newest order.

According to reports, the decision will bring respite to passengers traveling from the Middle East, Europe, and South Africa, who were previously compelled to endure a mandatory 14-day quarantine along with an RT-PCR test report.

Due to an increase in Delta variant cases in the United Kingdom, the Maharashtra state government issued an order in December requiring additional processes for travelers traveling from the aforementioned regions. With the publication of amended travel guidelines, citizens of these nations will now be treated equally to other foreign travelers.
