Ayodhya is one of India's main pilgrimage and heritage destinations. With the creation of Ram Mandir in progress, however, it is expected to gain a more prominent role as a tourist destination.
The Uttar Pradesh state government is also reportedly planning to undertake more projects to improve tourism in the state, along with the Grand Ram Mandir. News has it that the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has announced that a new international airport named after the Hindu deity Ram will soon be constructed in the area.
By December 2021, the Yogi Adityanath-led UP government wants to finish the airport project. An official spokesperson told a news agency that after the Ram Mandir is fully produced and inaugurated, the government expects Ayodhya to receive lots of domestic and foreign tourists. Furthermore, plans are underway to encourage Ram Mandir throughout the world. It is therefore evident that passenger traffic in Ayodhya will increase in the coming days.
In accordance with Nagara-style architecture, the Ram Mandir was built. It will be 161 ft in height, with three floors and five domes. Furthermore, 360 pillars will support the entire temple structure spread over 10 acres of land, and 57 acres of land will be occupied by the temple complex.
The temple will be built using only copper metal to make it more unique; no other metal will be used in the building. The building work for the temple is said to be finished by the end of the year 2023.
